Citizen Planner Award Nomination Form

For a citizen who has made a distinguished contribution to planning - whether it is a plan, program or process which helped Pine City achieve a goal or outcome to bring thoughtful development, planning or zoning to the community.

2024 Nominations Due by September 18, 2024

Support of planning. To what extent has the nominee’s time and dedication increased the understanding of planning principles and the planning process as well as the goals of the organization of which he/she is a part?  

Representation. To what extent has the nominee’s work supported or advocated for the goals of the Comprehensive Plan and/or the Planning Commission and/or City.

Effectiveness. How has the nominee promoted the cause and advanced the merits of planning?  Within what sphere of influence has this effectiveness been realized?

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Nominations must represent projects, issues or people in Pine City.

2. The work must represent an ongoing program or project, or have been generally completed within 2-4 years prior of the award.

3. Current members of the Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority, Housing Redevelopment Authority and City Council are not eligible.

4. The Planning Commission will recommend the awards to the City Council and the EDA may sponsor the award presentation at an appropriate civic or development event.

5. Self-nominated projects are welcome.
